There’s something timelessly romantic about a spring wedding at The Hotel Hershey—and Alex & Lauren’s celebration was the perfect example of elegance meeting charm. Their black-tie affair took place on a blue-sky day, with soft sprinkles of rain that brought the most stunning clouds just in time for their breathtaking ceremony in the hotel’s historic Formal Gardens.
Surrounded by soft blush blooms and the historic beauty of the venue, their garden-inspired wedding was a dream to experience and capture. Guests gathered in the Formal Gardens where the couple exchanged vows under a canopy of flowers, framed by lush hedges and the trickle of the iconic fountain.
Afterward, cocktail hour unfolded in the sophisticated Fountain Lobby before the grand celebration continued in the Garden Terrace Ballroom. Floral arrangements from Meadowbrook Floral Design brought texture and softness to the ballroom, with layers of romantic centerpieces and candlelight glowing across the tables.
And then—perhaps the most unforgettable moment—four live Hershey’s Chocolate characters made a surprise entrance to kick off the dance floor! It was whimsical, unexpected, and a true crowd-pleaser.
As a photographer, one of my favorite parts of the day was capturing the ceremony. The sky opened up with soft, dramatic clouds just as Alex & Lauren said “I do,” and the light was perfect. Despite a few sprinkles earlier in the day, the weather added drama and depth most magically.
The Hotel Hershey remains one of my favorite venues to photograph—not just for its historic elegance and gorgeous grounds, but because the staff is second-to-none, and the convenience of everything on-site makes the day seamless for couples and their guests alike.
