We get this question at every consultation from every bride, “what if it rains.” Their voice cracks and they grip their latte. Well, for us we smile and then say, “you get wonderful wedding photos and your guests have an extra special part of your day to remember, it rained. Ok, you just rolled your eyes (I get it, really I do). Here is the thing though, rain is out of our control. DUH LEIGH – I know, but I just had to say that. As Christians we pray and yes even for sunshine, but sometimes it rains, and that is when God really answers our prayers with joy, humor, and extra creativity. What helps brides on rainy days most is their schedule. We work with our couples weeks before the wedding to finalize their schedule but it almost seems that month by month leading up to their big day, they ask for our input. Having a plan brings peace and organization :).
Jared and Layne were absolutely wonderful and had a rainy wedding day, in a tent, on a farm. What do we remember most? From the first time we met them I felt their honesty personalities were so inviting. They became friends right away and thanks to their positive spirits were champs on their wedding day. This preview is just the beginning of their wonderful gallery and the highlight of their day was their final photo of the night, be sure to check that out at the bottom of the post! What I loved most about their day was her grandmother’s vintage jewelry, Layne’s amazing attitude, and the pastor’s outstanding prayer over them both, it was amazing!!
Brides, never ever forget that attitude is everything and be sure to surround yourself with fun, positive, and creative people because it might be gorgeously sunny or it might rain, but either way, the best wedding day isn’t possible without joy and lots of smiles.
